Families on the Front Line – Confronting Extremism

October 14, 2020 @ 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Inspiring voices and powerful grassroots tools to help protect at-risk youth from radicalization. This teach-in, presented by SCI and Parents for Peace, is designed to educate parents, teachers, and students (high school and up) about risks and resources for countering extremism. This event is an opportunity to learn about solutions for a public health challenge exacerbated by isolation during the pandemic.

The event’s panelists include former extremists (including ex-KKK members), as well as parents of children that have been radicalized. Digital attendees will have the opportunity to hear firsthand experiences of recruitment into extremism. Panelists will reveal their own journeys of being groomed into bigotry and share effective strategies to combat hate.

Parents for Peace is a public health nonprofit alliance operating America’s only counter-extremism helpline for parents.
