Warren Bamford

In his career Mr. Bamford has served in Washington, New Haven, and Baltimore Field Offices where he worked extensively in the violent crime program. His experience includes being a member of the Hostage Rescue Team (HRT), a SWAT team leader in New Haven, and as a supervisor of a Safe Streets Task Force in the Washington D.C. area.

Mr. Bamford has wide-ranging Counterterrorism experience as well having served as an Assistant Section Chief of the Domestic Terrorism Operations Section, as an Assistant Special Agent in-Charge (ASAC) in the FBI’s Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG) where he oversaw the FBI’s crisis management, negotiation, Bomb Data Center, Hazardous Devices Response, and Rapid Deployment Programs.

Most recently Mr. Bamford served as Section Chief of the Strategic Information and Operations Center (SIOC) at FBI Headquarters. In this capacity, he helped manage crisis and special events by ensuring the timely and effective flow of operational information between field offices, Headquarters executives, substantive units, and other government agencies.

Mr. Bamford graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from St. Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1980. He was commissioned as a Marine Corps Officer after graduation and served until 1986, when he entered on duty as a Special Agent with the FBI.

As a Senior Advisor to EDC, he provides strategic and operational expertise in the areas of complex investigations, business resilience, and crisis management. Bamford works closely with our clients to provide innovative and cost-effective approaches for the protection of personnel, physical security of assets, and regulatory compliance regarding security measures. Bamford also develops integrated security programs for the protection of personnel and assets to reduce the risk of the insider threat and workplace violence. 

Before joining EDC, Bamford was Head of Global Security for National Grid, a major energy company operating in the United Kingdom and U.S. In the 12 years with that company, Bamford was responsible for the security of the organization’s personnel and physical assets.
