The USC Homeland Security Student Organization (HSSO) will host a lecture with SCI instructor Aquil Basheer, the author of Peace in the Hood: Working with Gang Members to End the Violence. He was the 2010 California Wellness Foundation’s Peace Prize recipient and is described as “one of the nation’s most premier public safety, crisis survival, threat elimination professionals and hard-core gang intervention practitioners” in society today.
