Agent Evan Linney Evan Linney is a police agent for the Chula Vista Police Department (CVPD), currently working as a Professional Standards Unit detective and pilot on the CVPD Unmanned Aerial Systems team. In his more than nine years with the CVPD, Linney has also worked in the Patrol Division, Communications Center, Jail, and Police Support Services Unit. Linney’s main duties include conducting background investigations, assisting with citizen complaints, flying drone missions, building partnerships with community leaders, mentoring newer officers, creating curriculum, and instructing training on various topics. Linney helped create the CVPD 21st Century Policing – Cross Cultural Competency curriculum, which is co-instructed with community leaders and has been taught to all sworn personnel and dispatchers.

In 2019, Linney helped bring Game Changer, a law enforcement/community-based focus group centered on partnerships with major sporting teams to USC and ultimately to Los Angeles and Orange County. Since expanding to LA and Orange County, Game Changer has become POST certified and continues to train law enforcement officers in southern California and across the United States.

Linney holds a B.A. in Psychology from San Diego State University, a Master of Professional Studies in Homeland Security from Penn State University, and a Master of Public Administration from the USC Price School of Public Policy. Linney has also completed a Graduate Certificate in Public Management from USC Price and the USC Executive Program in Counterterrorism.
