Sergeant Arlen Castillo Sergeant Arlen Castillo is an 18-year veteran of the El Monte Police Department. In her tenure, Sgt. Castillo has worked in the Community Relations Division, where she developed the desire to build a connection between the community and law enforcement. Part of this included mentoring young girls in an empowerment program and assisting at-risk juveniles in a program that developed and prepared them to become productive community members. She continued her passion for mentoring the community’s youth by becoming a police explorer advisor.

In 2021, she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and is currently assigned to the patrol division. She is also a member of the Public Information Officer team.

Sgt. Castillo holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration and is completing her master’s degree in Leadership from Azusa Pacific University. Recently, she completed the SCI Public Safety Leadership Program. This has inspired her passion for mentorship and the development of others as she encourages women in law enforcement to advance in their careers and aim high.
