
Mike Alvarez is a Chief with the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the largest state law enforcement agency in the nation. In this capacity, he oversees the CHP’s Departmental Affairs Division and serves as the agency’s EEO Officer.
Chief Alvarez holds a Bachelor of Science from UCLA, a Master of Arts from the Naval Postgraduate School, and is currently a PhD candidate at Pepperdine University. Mike has completed the USC Price, Safe Communities Institute Executive Leadership Program and holds an Executive Leadership Certificate from Cornell University.
Chief Alvarez is also an adjunct professor at a local community college, where he teaches Introduction to Homeland Security and Terrorism.
