Mike Parker is a U.S. Department of Justice ICITAP (International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program) Senior Law Enforcement/Strategic Communications Advisor and Contractor (Amentum). He also serves as the elected Chair of the IMPACT Section of the IACP (International Managers of Police Academy and College Training Section of the International Association of Chiefs of Police).
He retired in 2017 as Commander of Personnel and Training with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD). His 32 years with the LASD included creating and implementing the internal and external communications, news media and social media strategy for the second largest policing agency in the United States. Mike Parker has published over 100 articles on policing and presented at over 100 conferences to policing and government officials from thousands of agencies and 58 countries. He received the Community Preparedness Heroes Award from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Community Preparedness and Resilience Champions of Change Award from the White House.
