In February 2021, the USC Price EXED Forum For Local Leaders, in partnerships with Southern California Edison, presented the CSDA Emergency Preparedness Summit. The two-day virtual event featured industry experts and USC Price faculty (including SCI Director Dr. Erroll Southers) to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-life experience. Day 1 Highlights

Topics: Developing an Emergency Communication Plan; Implementing an Emergency Communication Plan; FEMA Emergency Management Plan & Hazard Mitigation Plan; and Emergency Planning Preparedness/Response Plan.

Safe Communities Institute

The Safe Communities Institute (SCI) at the USC Price School of Public Policy continues a more than 60-year tradition of research, interdisciplinary education, and collaboration to advance sustainable “whole-of-community” public safety strategies, policies, and programs. SCI takes a holistic approach to encouraging and informing public safety efforts through collaboration between all public safety disciplines and the communities they serve.
