Violence Prevention Symposium

March 8, 2019 @ 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Violence is prevalent in many forms–gangs, bullying, child abuse, human trafficking and domestic violence. In many communities, acts of violence have become a daily occurrence, often affecting the most vulnerable – children. These youth are more likely to experience higher rates of trauma and mental health issues and have a higher risk of school problems, often dropping out of school altogether.

The Violence Prevention Symposium is a one-day workshop focusing on violence prevention efforts in schools and communities. It is designed for school administrators, counselors, psychologists, nurses, K-12 teachers, school police and community services. The workshop will:

  • Highlight and examine local prevention strategies that promote positive school environment
  • Review best practices in developing protocols and partnerships that promote a safe school environment

The cost is $60, and the deadline to register is March 6, 2019. Register online to attend. For more information, reach: 562-922-6233, [email protected].
