State of Hate 2020 – A Decade in Review

October 27, 2020 @ 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM

FBI hate crime figures for 2018 show them at their highest level since 2002. Whether these acts occur in schools, workplaces, online, or halls of government, acts of intolerance and hate are unacceptable and must be addressed in order to create thoughtful, multi-jurisdictional solutions in response to bigotry.

Assemblymember Richard Bloom of the 50th District of the California State Assembly is hosting a virtual forum on the State of Hate. SCI Director Dr. Erroll Southers will join as a panelist alongside others from academic and fact-finding institutions to review hate speech and crime trends of the last decade and explore options for a way forward.

RSVP online to join the forum.
